I realize I’ve been posting quite some bit on the lost crew of the Coast Guard C-130, CG-1705, but please understand that this event has had a serious impact on both the whole service and specifically the tight C-130 community. When I received the phone call in the Command Center that Friday morning (it was Thursday on the West Coast) my stomach began to feel ill as all I could do was run down the list of every crewmember I knew that’s still in. I only “knew” one of the seven, not on a personal level by our paths crossed at one time. So please follow along as I continue to follow and update ryanerickson.com with things I find, besides, it’s fair to say that the Coast Guard doesn’t have to deal with loosing its own very often so this is new territory for many.
The purpose of this particular post is to offer up Sean Lawler’s latest Coast Guard background- a tribute to the fallen from CG-1705. Simple, clean, respectful. Thank you Sean.
