To date we’ve learned of who our next Commandant (VADM Papp) and our next Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard (BMCM Michael P. Leavitt) will be- but under those two positions it’s been fairly unclear who’s to fill the positions of our next foray of Senior Leadership posts- especially since our next Commandant will be my current boss here at Atlantic Area. The Vice Commandant was rumored to be RADM Sally Brice-O’Hara but nothing hard on that had been released until today.
ADM Allen, the current Commandant, released an all hands email to the men and women of the Coast Guard announcing the “new leadership team” of which is scheduled to assume their positions when VADM Papp takes over as the next Commandant in May 2010. So, with that, here’s the latest and greatest on the who’s going where in May:
- Rear Admiral Sally Brice-O’Hara for promotion to Vice Admiral and assignment as Vice Commandant;
- Rear Admiral Robert C. Parker for promotion to Vice Admiral and assignment as Commander, Atlantic Area;
- Rear Admiral Manson K. Brown for promotion to Vice Admiral and assignment as Commander, Pacific Area;
- Vice Admiral John P. Currier will continue to serve as the Chief of Staff;
- Rear Admiral Brian M. Salerno will be assigned as the Deputy Commandant for Operations;
