An updated 2018 calendar has been released! (20 Oct ’17)

I noted in my last 2017 update that it was the last of the 2017 calendars, however, many of the crowd calendars out there have changed or updated and new sites have come to light! So, with that, I’ve updated both my consolidated calendars (2017 and 2018).

Both of these new calendars now have up to SEVEN sites averaged into the equation:

  1. YourFirstVisit.net
  2. UndercoverTourist.com
  3. DadsGuidetoWDW.com
  4. WDWBound.com
  5. YourMagicalVacation.com
  6. WDWPrepSchool.com (Jan-Jul)
  7. DisneyByAge.com (NEW!)

As before, not all calendars go out the entire year. At least not for 2018. These will be updated in a few months. But for now, here are the calendars (note that I did not update the 2017 calendar to the new format used in the 2018 one, I just didn’t want to take the time (there, I admit it!)) [edit: I’m not impressed with how WordPress crunched the pics below, they look like crap… I’ll update ASAP]:

Again, as before, if you’re a data nerd, you can view the work via Google Sheets; the 2017 calendar and the 2018 calendar. To sum up what you’d see in the data; I convert all the differing sites to a five (5) point scale and then a simple average on them. When we were planning our trip last year it was driving me mad that all the sites had slightly different data and thus was born the aggregated crowd calendar.

I used to try and tell people when it was best to go, but really, the data speaks for itself. Happy planning all. And if I’ve missed a great site to use please let me know.

A father of five and husband of one. This is my personal site. Cheers!

Have you ever done a comparison of what are the best days to go to each park with the information from the multiple crowd calendars? The reason I ask is because I was looking at a few and they have conflicting ideas on which park will be the least crowded on which days. My family is planning a trip on April 19th through the 27th in 2018 so we are hoping that most of the Easter crowds are done and it should be really nice. I am just trying to figure out which days to go to certain parks and which days to take time off since we are going for 9 days and buying a 6 day ticket. We are also staying off property and will not have access to Extra Magic Hours.

There are two sites that I used on here that do exactly that; UndercoverTourist.com and DisneyByAge.com have individual park data. Best of luck and have a great time.

What about touringplans.com?

Thanks for the info!

I thought of using them, however, they make money on people purchasing their services- to include crowd calendars. Thus I thought it in bad taste to buy a membership and use the data. Nonetheless, thanks for visiting.

Thanks for doing this! I was looking at all the different sites and trying to figure out if the week we wanted would work. It really helped to have it all together. We sure miss living close and being able to pop in for an afternoon and evening. We’d be walking in as all the exhausted families were coming out for a break. Now we’re going to be the ones trying to get every minute we can out of a short trip. Thanks for doing the work. The raw data was fun to look at.
